Scrap Squad Scraplift #30 2025
Another weekly scraplift from the Scrap Squad Facebook group, this time inspired by a beautiful original layout from Sophie Delorme for Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
This one challenged me more than usual. My first attempt at creating uneven scallops across three different papers didn’t quite work out, so I switched to using an edging die to get clean, uniform scallops. That small change made a big difference and helped the page come together more smoothly.
The photo of my granddaughter is very similar to the one in Sophie’s original, and I tried to stay true to the rest of the design as well. I deconstructed a shaker frame so I could layer in two different washi tapes, and I resized a transparent frame from 4x6 down to a neat 4x4 square. I added die-cut flowers from my kit and used two eyelets to thread butcher’s string through just like hers.
The main differences from the original layout are in the title and my choice to use hearts instead of butterflies and adding in some ink splatters so I could also score points in another challenge. It’s always fun to add a personal twist while still honouring the inspiration.
The papers are from Simple Stories Sunny Days, and the frames came from my stash. I love how it all came together in the end — a cheerful, layered page full of detail and heart.
Scraplifting is to copy or be inspired from someone else's layout - scrap lifting is well received and common in the scrapbook community however it is best practice to give credit to the original creator who influenced you.
