Scrap Squad Scraplift #11 12 Days of Summer
Last month Scrap Squad hosted their 12 Days of Summer event with a new Scraplift every day from the 1st - 12th July.
The original layout for Day 11 was designed by Nathalie DeSousa for Simple Stories and I absolutely love it - I really do love Simple Stories papers.
This layout features several layers of paper, but it’s also a great way to use up scraps and edge pieces—especially when parts of the paper won’t be visible!
Here’s how I put it together:
I started with a mix of graph paper off-cuts, cutting out sections I could reuse on other layouts.
My kit included a record card, but I only wanted the tabs—so I trimmed it down and used the reverse side as a top border for the page.
To keep the layout neat, I used die-cut flowers to hide any mismatched edges.
After sticking most of the elements down, I noticed a gap at the bottom. I found another odd piece of graph paper and tucked it underneath to balance the design.
I finished the page with a few word phrases, a Bramble Fox title, and—of course—my signature button!
The papers and floral die cuts are from Simple Stories, pulled from a mix of collections including Daily Grind and Let's Get Crafty.
I hope this inspires you to create a layered feature on your pages - as I said before it's a great way to use up scraps and edge pieces.
Scraplifting is to copy or be inspired from someone else's layout - scraplifting is well received and common in the scrapbook community however it is best practice to give credit to the original creator who influenced you.
