Scrap a Sketch #173

For one of last week’s Scrapbook Challenges, I chose to work with Sketch #173 from Scrap a Sketch. It’s a beautifully clean and simple design, and I loved how it came together using just one sheet of patterned paper and a small offcut of yellow cardstock.

The check-patterned paper had a floral design on the reverse, which gave me the perfect opportunity to fussy cut the flowers I wanted. I was careful with how I cut the sheet so I could make the most of the floral elements and I even had enough leftover to create another layout!

I stayed very close to the original sketch, right down to using film strip tape as an embellishment, which added a lovely visual detail without overwhelming the simplicity of the design.
