Double Page Layout - Stick it Down May 2025

Double Page Layout for Friday!

This layout was created for Stick It Down Scrapbook and Card Making Challenges in April 2025 as I'm the Design Team and really enjoyed working with this one. I stayed close to the original sketch, including a dedicated journalling spot to capture the story behind the photos.

I worked on A4 pages, using coloured cardstock as the base. For the patterned layer, I chose a vibrant yellow and pink palm leaf design from my stash—perfect for adding a tropical feel. The oversized embellishments are from the Vicky Boutin Where to Next collection, which brought a playful and bold touch to the layout.

For the cross-stitch detail featured in the sketch, I wasn’t quite sure how to interpret it at first. In the end, I opted for baker’s twine, wrapping it three times on each side to add texture and visual interest.

The photos are from a holiday in Turkey back in 1999, and I even included a postcard from the area to help set the scene and evoke the memories.
